The aim of this competition is to prepare the younger generation of our school to become good leaders of tomorrow. Further, the competition provides an avenue for schools to socialize through the competition, as such to build and foster relationship with each other and indeed, the changing fortunes of the world around them. This has been very successful for the last donkey years with an amazing and extra-ordinary contribution of our dear language teachers…. And thus we could say “God save the debates day!”

The purpose for having these debates is to help build the leadership abilities of our generation-X students; through an engagement in the debate of development issues which are of concern to our country, region and indeed the world!

Specifically, the purpose includes:

1. To build the confidence of youth participants in becoming future leaders
2. To recognize the leadership qualities of youth participants
3. To enable youths to contribute to public decision making
4. To learn about the government and politics of our country, region and indeed the world. We want them to know if really man landed on the moon, if Nauru is a real country and that if the Iranian deal is good for all of us or just the USA.
