The school has a unique character, maintaining the ambiance of the original buildings,  despite the introduction of new and modern facilities constructed in the recent past. It comprises of 51 classrooms and tutor rooms, 6 well equipped and spacious Science Laboratories, 3 Computer Laboratories with 90 Computers, 8 Smart Boards, a well stocked Library, Art Blocks, a 250-seater examination and multipurpose Hall, Career room, Music room, strategically placed Staff Room and Departmental Rooms, a Modern Administration Block, and a 355-seater state-of-the-art theater. The campus also has a cafeteria, a multipurpose court, fully functional Sports Field and a Swimming Pool.


Oshwal Academy Nairobi – Junior High is second to none in its endeavours to offer quality education to a large number of students opting for science oriented careers. The Science Laboratories are specially designed to cater to the demands of the ever-changing trends and needs of the Science-based subjects, offering a friendly and conducive environment that promotes group-work activity which enhances investigative and analytical skills. Each laboratory has a prep-room, and is supervised by a professionally qualified Laboratory assistant.

The use of Interactive Smart Boards, LCD Projector, OHP and Computers with electronic software packages has created a new interest in the realm of teaching and learning.



The school has a Local Area Network that is connected to over 110 computers in the three laboratories, Administration block and the Library.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as a subject is offered at  Key Stage III from year 7 to year 9, and at IGCSE in years 10 and 11.  ICT is one of the most popular subjects in school with both girls and boys taking it at IGCSE.

The students have access to the Computer Laboratories until 5.00 p.m. on week days, and from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on Saturdays and school holidays.  Students capitalize on the availability of the Internet Service on all computers to work independently on any school-based task, or browse through the various educational sites.

The school is equipped with a well-stocked and user friendly Library. The school Library provides a conducive study-environment for students.  There is a vast collection (6,000) of fiction and non-fiction books, including a selection of annually subscribed magazines and periodicals.  An IT corner provides access to information on CDs and internet.  Photocopying services are available for pupils.  The library is open after school hours up to 5.00 p.m., and on Saturdays and school holidays from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

The Mezzanine floor provides a quiet study area for the senior pupils.  The library has two qualified full-time librarians. It is also equipped with 12 computers with internet facilities.

Despite the fact that majority of the students are focused on Medical, Engineering and Business careers, the Fine Art has not been neglected. With two well planned Art rooms, the school endeavours to give the students the opportunity to bring out and develop their artistic talents. Art & Design is offered as a subject at Key Stage III and IGCSE.

The well-lit multipurpose Hall provides an ideal atmosphere for conducting both internal and external examinations.  It is also used for seminars and INSET training by EDEXCEL and CIE, the  External Examination Board.



Good education is a culmination of a conducive learning atmosphere, a well-executed curriculum and good career guidance. The Careers Department plays an important role in shaping the destiny of our students.

In our pursuit of excellence in academic and co-curricular activities, we have not lost sight of the finer things in life.  The Music Room is very popular with our students and gives an opportunity for budding musicians to grow and demonstrate their potential in playing a wide range of Musical instruments.  Our school band is highly talented, and participates in all school events and external functions.

The pupils of the school are covered under the AAR Health scheme for rescue and transportation to the hospital, in the event of any illness or injury. To supplement this, we also have a well equipped sick-bay and a qualified full-time nurse to cater for the pupils who fall ill in school, by giving initial first aid.



The ultra modern 355-seater Theatre is a hive of activity for debates, oratorical competitions, elocution – both within school and at inter-school level.  It provides a platform for actors to display their skills through school plays and talent contests. The theatre is extensively used for delivering lectures on academic, cultural and social issues by a wide range of visitors to school.

Ample time is set within the time-table for P.E. and Swimming, where the basic knowledge of all sports is imparted to  students.

Students are selected not only for the school under-14 and under-16 teams, but also represent the school at the Provincial and International School Leagues. They actively participate in various inter-school, and international events bringing laurels to the school.  The students win several sports prizes in both National and International tournaments. The sports field encompasses a Football pitch, Training track, Basketball Court, Tennis Court and a Cricket Practice Net.

The students have enjoyed considerable success and have excelled in a variety of sports at both National and International levels.  We have Swimming, Cricket, Hockey, Badminton, Table Tennis, Golf, Football, Lawn Tennis, Netball, Rounders, Basketball, Athletics, Volleyball, Karate, Cycling and Cross-Country on our Sports Calendar.

The school has a very vibrant club culture. Besides club activities, students assist in organizing school functions and raising funds with a focus on environmental conservation, charity, community service, learning and leadership.
